The opponents were asked to comment on the minimum wage in Georgia, which is currently $5.15 per hour. According to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Living Wage Calculator, people working 40 hours a week in the sixth district should make a minimum of $12.01 in order to not have “trouble making ends meet,” with Mr Ossoff saying that that is the exact problem many in the district face.
Hawaii defies Trump and becomes first state to legally support Paris Agreement on climate change
Hawaii has become the first state in the US to formally codify its pledge to defy Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw the country from the Paris climate agreement. Governor David Ige signed two landmark laws that would require the island state to honour the “commitments and goals” to reduce greenhouse gas emissions laid out in the accord. Hawaii is joined by many other US states and localities to declare that the Paris agreement would be honoured, with many governors and mayors signing executive orders or pledging to continue the fight.

The former FBI Director James Comey will confirm reports that Donald Trump put pressure on him to drop enquiries related to an ongoing investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election, according to a prepared testimony released a day before he is set to testify to Congress. Mr Comey's prepared testimony appears to confirm past reports based on memos that the former FBI director wrote following interactions with the President, including a January dinner between the two when Mr Trump asked him if he wanted to keep his job before demanding loyalty. In other interactions between the two in February, the President pressured Mr Comey to drop an FBI investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, who was forced to resign from his post a day earlier, and less than a month into the presidency amid concerns about his contacts with Russians.
