Alleged kidnap victim cried out "Help me" after car crash
WASHINGTON (AP) — An 11-year-old girl who was allegedly kidnapped from North Carolina cried out "Help me" when police officers in the U.S. capital found her wedged between the driver's and front passenger's seat after the car she was in crashed, court documents showed.
Fox News, Ailes face another sexual harassment lawsuit
A Democratic political consultant and Fox News contributor on Monday sued the network and its former chairman, Roger Ailes, accusing them of denying her a permanent hosting job after she rebuffed Ailes' sexual advances. Julie Roginsky also said in her lawsuit filed in New York state court that a misogynistic culture at Fox News, a unit of Twenty-First Century Fox Inc , had not changed since Ailes resigned last year after a separate sexual harassment lawsuit by former anchor Gretchen Carlson. Susan Estrich, a lawyer for Ailes, said in a statement that Roginsky's claims were "total hogwash." "This is about someone who wants to pile-on in a massive character assassination in order to achieve what she did not accomplish on the merits," Estrich said.
US clashes with Russia on UN human rights debate
Russia threw up a hurdle Monday in a US plan to hold a high-profile debate later this month on human rights during the US presidency of the UN Security Council. US Ambassador Nikki Haley wants to schedule the human rights debate for April 18, but the council adopted a program of work for the month without putting it on the agenda. Russian charge d'affaires Petr Iliichev said he was open to discussion on the scope of the debate and argued that the UN Human Rights Council -- not the Security Council -- was the venue for the meeting.
